Truth about Nursing, the nice stuff

Ive written some truths about nursing school that have made some future student tremble with fear. Ive gotten emails, comments and even facebook messages about it. Because of those things I thought that I should write some truths about nursing school that are shockingly wonderful.
*You will meet some of the most amazing people in the world. Some will be your colleagues, others your instructors, but many will be your patients.
*You will learn a compassion that is unfathomable.
*You will learn to buy waterproof mascara for all the tears you will shed, and you will always buy the strong deoderant.
*You will discover that your brain can hold way more information than you believed and that when the time comes, you really do remember all the steps to assist in a blood transfusion.
*You develop this sense of when something isnt right.
And the thing that continues to surprise me…..
*You will learn how much you were really meant to be a nurse. That this was the best choice you have ever made.
There will be financial drains, car trouble, family problems, interpersonal issues, marriages, divorces, births, deaths, new jobs, and saying good bye to friends. But in the midst of all these things you will find the happiest memories that you could imagine.
Congrats to all the new starters, the continuers, and the ones in the middle of their journey. Thank you to all the vets in the trenches for giving us their time, teaching us their lessons, and tricks.
Its Fall again people. Time to get to reading….
