Two year Blogoversary!
Happy Birthday to my Blog. Two years ago today I started this blog, the same day I got my acceptance to Nursing school. Its hard to believe, and with my extra time I have been rereading some of those posts. Crazy to see everything Ive gone through, all the friends Ive made and all the time that has gone by.
Thank you for sticking with me. Thank you for reading. Thank you for the support through everything!
It went perfectly.
Somedays are so close to perfect that you feel like you need to be pinched. Yesterday was one of those. The only thing that could have made yesterday better was if my Hubby was home.

Instead I started my day out with a delivery of flowers from my amazing hubby! He also ordered my the ENTIRE series of Daria. (Am I the only one who watched this show on MTV back in the late 90′s?) I was a little shocked that he even remembered that I liked the show!! Such a great guy!

My Son even remembered my birthday by allowing me to sleep and also by staying snuggled in all day with no cramping or pain. (I had a little spotting at the end of the day, but that was minimal!) And he was active enough that I didnt have to worry that something was wrong. What a great Kid!

My parents took me out for my favorite lunch at the whole foods market. I had that largest salad I have ever seen and some of my favorite pasta salad, it was delicious and exactly what I was craving.
After lunch they surprised me by ordering the Glider and ottoman that Ive been coveting! Thanks Mom and Dad!!
And then after dinner (forgot to take a picture!) we had my favorite cake! Black forest cake!

Happy Birthday to ME!

Dont worry, I made sure to have a piece of cake for each and every one of you! Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes!!
Now what type of cake do you LOOOOOOOOVE?
And it all began 26 years ago….
Yes, its my birthday. This year will be tame, and relaxed and exactly the way that I like it! The only thing missing is my hubby. Seriously. Last year he came home from Iraq for my birthday, it was amazing. I knew that I wouldnt always get that lucky….
I was sitting here (On couch rest people, I do ALOT of sitting) thinking about all my past birthdays. From the Barbie on Ice days of the late 80′s to the rocking days in Vegas. And I feel like each years birthday has been a reflection of the year ahead. Last year the birthday made the entire year pleasant and relaxed.
So now I wonder what this year ahead holds? This year I will hopefully find myself holding a bouncing bundle of cloth diaper, nursing my baby, reuniting with my husband, moving abroad, and hopefully finally finishing my Nursing degree.
26 came way to fast. It was like the entire year was in fast forward, I blinked and missed an entire year. Do all the years pick up that quickly?
And yesterday I said goodbye to my early twenties, Im officially in my LATE twenties now. One year older, one year of experiences under my belt, one year of joys to celebrate, one year of disapointments to let go of, an entire year passed.
Its hard to believe Im 26. I look in the mirror and still feel 14. When am I supposed to start feeling grown up?
What is your favorite birthday memory?

The end is in sight. The end is in sight.
Real posts will resume shortly.
Happy First Anniversary!!
Today marks one glorious year of marriage to the most amazing man in the universe.
Its obvious to most that we decided to get married on Valentines day. And we get asked by many people why we chose that day, so here is my reasoning…. Both my husband and I feel that love should be expressed every day and so should appreciation so neither of us have a particular use for Valentines day. And We wanted a day that was memorable, so we chose Valentines.
Other benefits to being married on this day are that there are tons of sales on Jewelry and flowers and men are bombarded by sales ads reminding them to buy their sweethearts THINGS. For women its a little harder since for
Some reason Valentines is all about buying women gifts.
We spent our anniversary very
Low key. The night before we attempted to enjoy a luxurious restaurant with great reviews. I say attempted because I was unable to enjoy much since BB was not in the mood for food. Today we spent the day exploring Legoland and did some shopping for maternity clothes and then saw the movie Its Valentines Day. Great movie! Oh and we had an amazing lunch at Maggiano’s!
The best part of the day was having my Hubby all to myself and getting to have some great laughs!
Happy anniversary my love! Here’s to another 50 of newlywed bliss!!
Planning for the anniversary
Im so excited! In just a couple weeks the Hubby and I will be celebrating our First Wedding Anniversary!
Some days it feels like we have been married for 10 years, especially when you think of everything we’ve done and been through. Other dayd I cant believe its already been a year.
Ive been told that the first year is the hardest, so if that was that hard part then I cant wait to see what the easy stuff is.
Our first year of marriage survived Iraq, family deaths, orders that kept us apart, traveling abroad, and a second set of orders keeping us on separate side of the US. Not to mention Nursing school.
Nursing school alone makes marriage more difficult. The time constraints that studying, clinicals and lecture cause dont leave very much time for romance or being spontaneous. But we manage.
And now here we are, almost a year in and I have to say that I am even more in love with him than I ever.
What did you do for your first anniversary?
Martin Luther King Day
Just wishing everyone a happy Martin Luther King Day. And hoping that today everyone can try to do one act of service.
Im not sure what act of service I will do…perhaps donate to the relief fund for Haiti. I strongly encourage everyone to do something! Share here what all you did!
My new friend
My amazing hubby surprised me with this beauty as a back to school gift!
Im becoming a huge Coach bag fan!
Happy New Year!
2009 was really fine, so lets do it again in 2010!
This new year was totally different, we spent it at home with my Dad, his new friend, and her family. It was interesting to see how much life has changed over the past year. My family dynamic is different now, my parent will be living in different states. My sister has gone from a teenage pain in the ass to an adult. And the honeymoon phaise of my marriage seems to be here to stay!
2010 holds so much for my little family. The big move to NewHome is coming up in just a few months. That fact is in our face today as we start our packing. The packers should be coming in the next couple of months, but with school starting back up we really needed to get a start on it.
Hope everyone had a safe and happy new year !
Christmas with my inlaws
This year was my first year as a married woman, and as such we spent these holidays with my husbands family. Little did I know that my skills as a nurse (student) would be needed. My husbands grandfather started having a flare up of his CHF and was having some painful breathing. I was impressed at the amount of knowledge that I was able to recall while doing a quick assessment on him. Ultimately he was fine and I realized how very much I need to have my stethoscope with me always. I felt handicapped without my ears.
What all do you keep in your trunk? I am now fully equipped with a good emergency kit and also my spare ears, so those incidents where I need them.
The rest of the holiday went off without any issue and it was wonderful getting to see all the cousins and the Nephews. We were incredibly honored in being asked to be the oldest Nephews Madrina/Padrino at his first communion. What a priveledge!
Saying good bye was harder, much harder. I cried for about 100 miles while driving away. I have married into such an amazing family and saying goodbye to my Mother-in-law made me feel like my heart was breaking.
Only 6 months until Graduation and hopefully everyone will be able to make it up here!
The countdown to the big move is coming…….172 days!
Merry Christmas!
We are spending Christmas at Disneyland with my amazing Mother-in-law and one of the Tia’s!
Pictures to follow!
Hope everyone is having a great Christmas day with family!
Other traditions
Some things make me homesick, one thing in particular at this time of year. That thing is a smell, and a sound…combined they make up the holiday for me.
Cinnamon rolls and the noise of the mall. My family has a tradition of going to the mall every year on christmas eve and we sit and watch the crazy last minute shoppers.
This year is different. This year is the hustle and bustle of the in-laws household. Cousins comng over, family talking, and kids laughing. Lots of kids laughing! That has to be one of my favorite smells in the world.
And even with all the wonderful sounds and fabulous smells, I miss my family. I miss my puppies, and I totally miss the smells of my holiday traditions. Next year we will have to learn to integrate…..but we will be at NewHome, so I guess I will be tasked with ways of bringing both of our traditions into the house.
What are your holiday traditions?

Mothers Day wishes
My Mom and Dad sent me some gorgeous flowers for Mothers Day. The card they sent me had a message on it that sent tears flowing down my cheeks.

In short, happy mothers day to all the Moms of earth babies, angel babies, and fur babies.
