Thankful Day 12

Today I am thankful for having the worlds greatest Mother in law. I have been so blessed to have a MIL that is amazing and loving and so warm. I know how bad some MIL’s can be, and mine is perfect. I miss her as much as I miss my Mom. And I am so glad that I was able to fly down and spend some time with her before we left for Japan. She is an awesome Grandmother, and Big Boy C and Nolan are so lucky.

What are you thankful for today?

Thankful Day 5

Today I am thankful for my parents. I have the best Mom and Dad on the planet. Without them I dont know how I would have survived the obstacles of the last year. Dad was there for every appointment, emergency visit, L&D visit, labor and delivery. He was there when I had to make the decision to drop out of nursing school. He even called my instructor to explain it to her. He was amazing. He was so supportive throughout the pregnancy, making sure I felt loved. He did such a great job taking care of me, I dont know how I will ever thank him enough.

And Mom, well she was my everything. She dropped her entire life to come and take care of me while I was on bedrest. Doing everything from making me food and taking me to appointments, to doing my laundry and entertaining me. She was awesome. She truly taught me what it means to be a mother. I am so thankful for her.

Today, and everyday I am thankful for my parents. The worlds greatest Grandparents!

Thankful Day 4

Today I am thankful for my friend J. J came into my life towards the end of my pregnancy when I attended a lactation class. At the end of the class, she asked me for my phone number. We started hanging out a few days later, and it was like an instant connection. I feel like I’ve known her forever. And now something even greater to be thankful for, J’s son P was born only a few weeks after Nolan. So he has an instant best buddy. I cant wait to get to see our sons grow up together. What an amazing thing to be thankful for!

Thankful day 3

Today I am thankful for my friend L. I get teary eyed whenever I start to think about her. She is someone to be truly thankful for. She was there to support me through my rough high risk pregnancy, through nursing school, through bedrest, and then she was my labor partner. She was there the second my son took his first breath, she was there to trim his umbilical cord. She supported me through my delivery, held my hand and comforted me through my epidural. She was and is amazing.

She is the best friend I have ever had and I am so thankful for her and her kind spirit.

Happy New Year!

2009 was really fine, so lets do it again in 2010!

This new year was totally different, we spent it at home with my Dad, his new friend, and her family. It was interesting to see how much life has changed over the past year. My family dynamic is different now, my parent will be living in different states. My sister has gone from a teenage pain in the ass to an adult. And the honeymoon phaise of my marriage seems to be here to stay!

2010 holds so much for my little family. The big move to NewHome is coming up in just a few months. That fact is in our face today as we start our packing. The packers should be coming in the next couple of months, but with school starting back up we really needed to get a start on it.

Hope everyone had a safe and happy new year !

Almost have my land legs back….

After spending 11 days at sea and loving the waves rolling back and forth, I am having some difficulty re-integrating into the regular land.

The Hubby swears that I will get my land legs back soon, I cant wait!

The cruise was so much fun, and if it werent for the BIG MOVE coming up then we would have booked another one. I strongly suggest a cruise, strongly!

Me and the Radiance of the Seas!

This was on the beach at Cabo San Lucas….I miss it already!

A week of Thankful

I need to just admit it now, I wake up 15minutes early to read all my blogs in my google reader. So although I may be horrible about commenting, I do read them!

This morning I was reading one of my daily blogs and they talked about the meaning of Thanksgiving and it really hit home. I want to use this holiday week to remember to be thankful for all that I have. I dont want my children to only remember this holiday based on the foods we eat, the decorating we do or the family visits. I want this to be a week of thanks.

So everytime I start to be bitchy, grumpy, or start to complain I am going to try to think of something I am thankful for.

With that I want to do a quick introduction again for my new readers:

I am Tiffany, I am married to the most amazing man whom I call “the hubby”. I am blessed to have a kiddo by another mother (my stepson) we call him Big Boy, we have two dogs Harley and Giada.

I am currently finishing my Fall term of my second year of Nursing school. I will graduate in June with my ADN. I am a full time student and I am currently embarking on an amazing journey as a stay at home wife/student. In my limited free time I watch movies, blog, go to the gym, cook, spend time with my family and….well we like adventures so we are always heading out somewhere!

Is there anything else you want to know? Leave a comment!! I would love to get to know you too!

Around this time two years ago….

My Meyah was alive, chunky, and as happy as a “pork chop” can be. And now here we are just over two months after she got her wings.

While packing up some boxes I held her urn in my hands, it hurts just as much as it did in June. I miss my baby girl. I miss my Mama Meyah.

Today I am thankful for all the years that I was able to spend with my little girl!

Thankful for Giada

She never fails to bring a smile to my face. She was so funny this afternoon, I was sitting on the bed trying to work on my teaching plan for my Peds class when she runs into the room, jumps up on the bed and quickly gives me a kiss and then runs back outside.

It was like “Need to kiss mom then go play”! So freaking cute!

Right now I am still working on my teaching plan, trying desperatly to make it interesting enough for a group of 5 year olds. Its just that handwashing isnt very interesting!

Thankful for laughter

Today I am incredibly thankful for the laughter of good friends!

Last night Hubby amd I headed to my best friends house to help her get her guest bed set up and then we all went out to see Twilight!

I am the only Twilight fan, neither Hubby nor my friend were particularly interested in seeing it. I thought the movie was amazing and I cant wait to see it again!! Hubby didnt like Edward, and my friend hated the movie.

But we all still had fun!!

Did you see Twilight? Did you gasp when you saw the abs on Jacob? Holy cow!!

“I love you more than seafood!”

This morning I woke up and asked my loving hubby what he was thankful for….

His response ‘Seafood”, then he apparently saw the look on my face and said “But mostly I am thankful for you baby!! I love you more than seafood!”

What a suck up, and I think someone is trying to hint that I need to make some seafood for dinner!

Last night we had a wonderful dinner of homemade shrimp alfredo and dill salmon. The salmon was caught by out amazing Tio T. And it was MmmMmmMmm Delicioso!

Tonight we are heading out to go see the new Twilight movie. The Hubby is being super supportive of my vampire addiction!

What new movies have you seen?

Thankful for vacations

Today I am thankful for the ability to take vacations!! We picked up our cruise tickets and we finished our final paperwork for our winter getaway!!

Im so excited!

Yesterdays clinicals were interesting. I was at a local Boys and Girls club observing growth and development of children. It was very interesting, and some of the nursing students and I observed a child who we were all pretty sure has Cushings Syndrome. There was no mention in the childs medical history, but she had the standard round abdomen, hump, moon face and skinny arms/legs. It was strange.

And lemme tell ya, kids are LOUD!! Hving only been exposed to sick kids in the clinicals up to now, it was weird to be surrounded by healthy ones!

What are you thankful for?
